Boston
Have you ever heard a city which economy is mainly based on higher education? Here is one--Boston. According to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston
"Boston is the capital of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. It is the largest city in New England. Founded in 1630, Boston is one of the oldest and most culturally significant cities in the United States. Its economy is based on higher education, research, health care, finance, and technology, principally biotechnology."
There are many ways you can entertain yourself in this great city, here is our approach for the past weekend:
1. Took Funghua Bus from Chinatown, NYC at 8:00am and arrived South Station, Boston around 12:30pm. Took Exsse Street to Chinatown and enjoyed a lobster lunch at Zui4 Xian1 Lou2 at about $10 per person.
2. Went to Harvard University with MBTA and took a lot of pictures around campus and Charles River. Spent about two hours at three galleries of Harvard and then headed back to our hotel near South Station (Westin Waterfront at $149 per night, Silver Line at World Trade Center stop).
3. Took a texi to Quincy Market ($7) and shopped around. We had dinner in Quincy Market and then walked to the Long Wharf harbor to see the sunset.
4. Got up earlier (around 9:00am) and took MBTA to Long Wharf and brought tickets for Historical Sightseeing Cruise. Went to financial district following Freedom Trail.
5. Headed back to Long Wharf and took the cruise. The cruise was $19 per person and was the most rewarding experience of the whole trip. Really fantastic!
6. Came back from the Cruise and took MBTA to Chinatown and had Dim Sum at the wonderful China Pearl. Although we waited for 15 mins, but the food and price were great.
7. Walked west to Boston Common. Cross the park (enjoyed the SwanBoat for $2.75 per person) and went down Beacon Hill. Following the Black Heritage Trail and small shops around Charles Street. Went east to State House and ended the trip at Park Street.
8. Took 4:30pm bus back to city. Encounter an unforgettable sunset on way back. It remained me about the fire in Atlanta in Gone with the Wind.
The total cost was about $140 per person and the fun is uncountable.

Glad that you like Boston. It is a lovely place to live, although not as exciting as NYC, it has its own charater and tranquility.
