Back to town

The past two weeks were amazing and crazy. My dissertation process had not gone well and I was very depressed before I left for Mexico City. The trip to Mexico just came in time to save my life. Mexico and its people are so nice and kind and the trip has a healing effect on my body and soul. During my six days in the City, I was staying in a hostel and met many interesting people. This was an eyes-opening experience and everything worked out just fine. I will write about my trip later.
Once I headed back to New York, the week turned out to be the Asia Week (http://www.asianart.com/exhibitions/aany/index.html). There were a lot of Asian Art fairs in town and top auction houses held special sessions for Asian art. I went to see Christie's auction of J.J. Collection of Chinese snuff bottles and other antiques, as well as the Pacific Asia Art Fair at the Armory of 26th street (Lexington Ave). My friends also took me to Fuller Building (E 57 street and Madison) and we visited couple of galleries there and nearby. Then we visited the International Art Fair at 66th street Armory (Park Ave). I was not able to make to Sotheby’s which hosted a contemporary Chinese Art show in the past week. I learnt a lot of ceramics and snuff bottles and was amazed by the popularity Chinese arts enjoyed here in New York.
